MU03 – Project NEER

Thazhainallur is a remote village in Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu. An isolated tribal community live near Thazhainallur railway station without any basic amenities for generations. These families don’t possess any essential facilities like shelter, water, food and electricity. Home for them is just a hut covered with polythene covers. As there is no safe drinking water available nearby, they travel 10 km, through local train for drinking water.

INSPIRE decided to dig a borewell for them. Water started gushing out from the borewell and a handpump was also installed.

The villagers thanked INSPIRE for the borewell and said that they are grateful to us for the water without which they would have to trek many kilometers for their daily consumption. Now, they have more time to tend to their work to earn their livelihood.

Total cost of this project is Rs.71,000/-
