Ms.Uma Maheswari runs Babsaheb Ambedkar Free Tuition Centre at Kannagi Nagar, Thoraipakkam for 300 slum kids of Kannagi Nagar, free of cost, for the past six years. She employs college students and volunteers as teaching staff and also feeds the kids with evening meals.
Inspire team gifted the Centre with a brand new 30 kg capacity Big Vessel with lid and spatula worth Rs.6,000/-. Uma was so excited that now she can cook biriyani for the kids in the new vessel. Inspire team also gave 80Kgs of rice, 5 kgs of wheat, 2 kgs of sugar, 1 kg of oil and 5 big bags of used clothes.
INSPIRE conducted an awareness session on Civic Awareness and Good Habits to the students for which they answered very diligently. The students were very disciplined and the centre looked like a small school, thanks to the efforts of Uma Maheswari.
